Create an AI Employee using the 1-Click Builder

Updated over 3 weeks ago

This guide walks partners through using the 1-Click Builder to create a pre-production AI Employee for a customer from their website or Google Maps profile.

Restaurant industry only: Verify Google Maps booking path

Before you build a restaurant AI Employee for a customer, confirm whether table bookings are handled inside the Google Maps interface.

  1. Open the business's Google Maps profile.

  2. Look for the Reserve a table button and click it.

  3. Verify that the entire booking flow stays within Google Maps.

If the booking flow stays inside Google Maps, the AI Employee can place bookings directly. If clicking Reserve a table redirects to a third-party website (such as OpenTable or Resy), the AI Employee cannot book directly in Maps and will instead send a booking link to a guest by SMS.

Launch the 1-Click Builder

You can access the 1-Click Builder in three ways:

  • Newo.ai website: Go to newo.ai and click the call-to-action in the hero section. This method only offers a website URL input field.

  • Direct link: Navigate to agent.newo.ai/creator. This method offers both a website URL field and a Google Maps search field.

  • Partner Portal: Open your Partner Portal and use the creation option there. This automatically links the new AI Employee to your partner account.

Enter business details

After launching the 1-Click Builder, enter your customer's business information using one of two methods:

  • Website URL: Type or paste the customer's website URL into the website field and click the training button.

  • Google Maps search: Start typing the customer's business name or location into the Google Maps search field. Select the correct business from the dropdown results and click the training button.

Automated training process

After you click the training button, the 1-Click Builder begins training your customer's AI Employee automatically. During this process:

  1. The system scrapes the customer's website for relevant content (menus, services, hours, FAQs, and other business information).

  2. If a Google Maps profile is available, the system integrates data from it (location details, business hours, and FAQs).

  3. Training progresses through several stages. Wait for all stages to complete.

Scraping limitations

The 1-Click Builder may not capture all information about a customer's business. Some websites block automated scraping, use dynamic content that cannot be extracted, or contain information in formats such as PDFs or images that the scraper cannot read. After creating the AI Employee, you can add missing context manually through the customer's Portal or Builder.

Create the customer account

When the training process completes, you are prompted to create an account. Fill in the following required fields:

  • Full Name

  • Email

  • Phone

What you enter in these fields depends on your scenario (see below). After filling them in, click the button to finish creating the AI Employee.

What contact details to enter

Building live on a sales call

Use the customer's full name, email, and phone so they immediately receive the AI Employee details via email. This lets the customer access the Portal directly.

Building before the first call (demo prep)

Use your own name, email, and phone so that the customer does not receive AI Employee details without their knowledge. You retain control of the account until you are ready to hand it off.

For Partners

The account creation screen includes a For Partners dropdown. Expanding it reveals fields for linking the new AI Employee to your partner account, including Partner Organization IDN, Partner Member IDN, AI phone country code, and Promo Code.

For a full reference of these fields and where to find your IDN values, see the Partner Identification Numbers article.

Test the AI Employee

After submission, the system provisions a phone number for the AI Employee. The phone number is displayed on screen.

Place a test call to the number to hear the AI Employee in action. If you are on a sales call with the customer, have them call the number on speaker so they can experience the AI Employee firsthand.

❗❗ IMPORTANT

The 1-Click Builder delivers a pre-production AI Employee. It works, but it is not finished. Work with your customer to capture information not present on the website or Google Maps profile, and make further modifications to the AI Employee's behavior through the Portal.

Post-creation onboarding steps

After creating the AI Employee, the customer receives a free trial period. To keep the account active after the trial, the customer must select a subscription plan and enter a payment method.

As the partner who created the AI Employee, you handle onboarding for the customer. Complete these steps to take them live:

  1. Deploy the chatbot: Add the AI Employee chatbot widget to the customer's website.

  2. Set up call forwarding: Configure call forwarding from the customer's existing phone number to the AI Employee's provisioned number.

πŸ—’οΈ NOTE

If a customer creates an AI Employee on their own (not through a partner), they are presented with the option to book a free onboarding call.

Find the new AI Employee

Where the newly created AI Employee appears depends on how you accessed the 1-Click Builder:

  • Created through the Partner Portal: The AI Employee appears in your Partner Portal automatically.

  • Created by the customer on their own: The customer must provide you with their Organization IDN so you can link their organization in your Partner Portal.
