Agent chat formatting

This guide explains how to control the formatting of your AI Employee's chat messages using the project_representative_agent_chat_formatting_style attribute. By configuring this attribute, you can define specific rules for list usage, markdown, emojis, and message length to align the AI's output with your brand's voice.

Configuring the chat formatting style

To customize the appearance of chat messages, you must assign specific instructions to the formatting attribute.

  1. Navigate to the Attributes page in the Builder or the Settings page in the Portal.

  2. Locate the project_representative_agent_chat_formatting_style attribute.

  3. Enter your specific formatting rules as a list of instructions.

  4. Click Save and Publish All.

Configuration example

You can instruct the agent to avoid specific elements or enforce others. Below is an example of a common configuration:

- Do not use any lists (numbered or bulleted) when communicating information.
- Summarize all details in a single sentence where appropriate.
- Do not use markdown formatting.
- Do not use hashtags.
- Do not use emojis.
