Use this guide to correctly set an AI Employee’s industry if the 1-Click Builder miscategorizes it.
The Industry of an AI Employee determines the AI's baseline instructions, including industry-specific corner cases.
🚨 WARNING
Do not change the Industry attribute after the AI Employee has been created. Changing it can cause incorrect behavior or inaccurate responses. If the industry is wrong, create a new AI Employee with the correct industry using the URL method below.
Where to check the industry
During creation: The industry field is shown during the creation of your AI Employee.
After creation: In the Portal, go to Settings → use the Search field to find the "Industry" attribute.
Force create a new agent in a specific industry (URL method)
Use this method when the 1-Click Builder misclassifies the industry (e.g., creates a sales_industry agent when you need restaurant_industry). This creates a new AI Employee with the specified industry.
How it works
Open the 1-Click Builder URL with the
industryquery parameter, replacing the value with one of the supported industries (exact lowercase with underscores):https://agent.newo.ai/creator?industry=your_supported_industry_here
Only the following industries are currently supported with this method. Values must be lowercase and use underscores exactly as shown:
* `catering_industry` * `cleaning_industry` * `dental_industry` * `home_service_industry` * `hospitality_industry` * `restaurant_industry` * `sales_industry`
For example:
https://agent.newo.ai/creator?industry=restaurant_industry https://agent.newo.ai/creator?industry=sales_industry
Once you have entered the correct URL, continue as normal by entering the business website or searching for them on Google Maps.
Complete the 1-Click Builder flow and confirm the correct industry has been allocated.
What if my industry isn't listed?
If the exact industry isn’t listed among the supported types, select sales_industry. This is appropriate for most general businesses focused on lead capture, inbound sales, or appointment setting where a more specific vertical model is not available.
Examples of suitable sales_industry use:
Local retailers without a dedicated vertical model.
Professional services where sales conversations dominate (e.g., consulting).
B2B companies needing general qualification and routing.
