Configure the chat greeting phrase

The chat greeting phrase is the opening message the AI Employee sends at the start of every chat conversation, including when a visitor opens the Newo Chat widget on a website. It should introduce the AI Employee and invite the customer to engage. This guide explains how to set the first message your AI Employee sends when a customer opens a chat session.

This phrase is configured using the project_representative_agent_chat_greeting_phrase attribute.

Configure the chat greeting phrase

  1. In the Portal, go to Settings > Agent tab.

  2. Locate the project_representative_agent_chat_greeting_phrase attribute.

  3. Enter the greeting text you want the AI Employee to send at the start of each chat session.

  4. Click Save.

Example phrases

Restaurant booking:

Hi! I'm Becky. Would you like to reserve a table, or can I assist you with something else?

Service business:

Hey there! I'm Max from Apex Cleaning. Looking to book a clean or have a question? I'm here to help.

General purpose:

Hello! How can I help you today?
