This guide explains how to set the project_business_public_phone attribute so your AI Employee provides customers with the correct public phone number.
What the business phone number controls
The Business Phone attribute (project_business_public_phone) stores the official phone number that appears publicly on the business website, Google Maps, Yelp, OpenTable, or social media. The AI Employee references this number when customers ask for contact information. It is included in the agent's prompt under "Business contact information."
🚨 WARNING
The public phone number must be different from any escalation or transfer phone numbers configured for the AI Employee. If the public phone number matches an escalation number, the agent may call itself recursively, creating an infinite loop.
Set the business phone number
Open the Builder.
Navigate to Attributes > Business.
Locate the Business Phone (Public Phone) attribute (
project_business_public_phone).Enter the phone number with the full country code. Use one of the accepted formats:
With plus sign:

Phone number guidelines by business type
Business type | What to enter | Example |
Single location | The published phone number for the business. |

Multi-location | The published phone number for the specific location this agent supports. |

Call center | The main call center number. |

Multiple public numbers
If the business has more than one public phone number, list all numbers separated by commas:

The AI Employee can reference any of the listed numbers when providing contact information.

Always include the full country code. Phone numbers without a country code may not be recognized correctly by the system.
