Dolphin integration

Connect a Dolphin practice to your AI Employee through Kolla so callers can check availability, book appointments, and cancel — with changes written straight into the practice's Dolphin schedule. Dolphin is an orthodontic practice management system Newo.ai supports through the Kolla connector.

The full setup — Kolla portal configuration, the on-premises connector, and the kolla_* attributes in the Builder — is the same for every PMS and lives in the Kolla integration guide. This page covers only what is specific to Dolphin.

Before you begin

  • Read and follow the Kolla integration guide for the end-to-end setup.

  • Confirm the practice runs an on-premises Dolphin installation. Kolla reads the PMS database through connector software installed on the practice's local machine, so it cannot reach a PMS that is hosted only in the cloud.

Dolphin-specific settings

When you create the linked account in the Kolla portal and set kolla_connector_id in the Builder, use the Dolphin connector:

Because Dolphin is an orthodontic system, work with the practice to confirm which provider and operatory the AI Employee should book into by default — orthodontic scheduling often uses chairs or columns rather than the operatory rooms seen in general-dentistry systems. Everything else — kolla_api_token, kolla_consumer_id, and the scheduling flow — works as described in the Kolla integration guide.

What the AI Employee can do

Through Kolla, the AI Employee can check availability, book appointments for new and existing patients, cancel appointments, and look up patients by phone number. Direct reschedule is handled by cancelling and rebooking. See Kolla integration for the complete list and the supported scheduling flow.
