Create an AI Employee for a new customer using the Agent Creator

As a partner, build a working AI Employee for a new customer in minutes from their website or Google Maps profile.

This guide is for partners creating an AI Employee for a new customer. The Agent Creator builds it in a few minutes from the business's website or Google Maps profile. You finish with a pre-production AI Employee that has its own phone number, appears in your Partner Portal, and is ready for a test call.

Before you begin

Have these ready:

  • Access to your Partner Portal: you start the Agent Creator from there.

  • The business's website or Google Maps listing: the Agent Creator reads the business details from one of these.

  • Whose contact details to use: the person you enter on the account form receives the welcome email for the new account.

  • Building live on a sales call: enter the customer's details, so they get the email straight away and can sign in to the Portal.

  • Building before a demo: enter your own details, so the customer isn't contacted before you're ready to hand the account over.

  • The country for the AI Employee's phone number: Australia, Canada, Netherlands, United Kingdom, or United States.

Note: How a restaurant's AI Employee takes table bookings depends on the restaurant's Google Maps profile. If Reserve a table keeps the booking inside Google Maps, the AI Employee can book directly. If it opens another site, such as OpenTable or Resy, the AI Employee texts the guest a booking link instead.

Train the AI Employee on the business

  1. In the Partner Portal sidebar, click Create Agent. The Agent Creator window opens.

  2. Select Website or Google Maps.

  3. Enter the business:

  4. Website: type or paste the address, such as bevri.com.

  5. Google Maps: start typing the business name, then select the business from the suggestions.

  6. Click Train your AI. The training screen opens, and cards with the business's details start to appear.

If Train your AI stays greyed out, check the address. A message under the field, such as Please enter a valid website address, explains the problem. Make sure the address has no spaces and includes an ending such as .com.

You can also open the Agent Creator directly at agent.newo.ai/creator instead of from the Partner Portal. If you do, you enter your partner details yourself when you create the customer account (step 7 below).

What happens during training

The Agent Creator reads the business's public information and fills in a card for each detail it finds. These include the name, address, opening hours, FAQs, and products and services. It also suggests a name and greeting for the AI Employee. Training takes a few minutes.

Within about a minute, Proceed to agent creation appears. Click it to move to the account form, or wait and the form opens by itself. Training carries on in the background while you fill in the form.

To start again with a different address, click Discard & start over.

The Agent Creator can only use what it can read. Some websites block automated reading, load content in ways it can't capture, or keep details in PDFs or images. Expect some gaps, and fill them in after the AI Employee is created.

Create the customer account

  1. Enter the Customer Full Name.

  2. Enter the Customer Emails. You can enter more than one address, separated by commas.

  3. Enter the Customer Phone. For a number outside the United States, select its country from the flag menu before you type the number.

  4. Select I agree with Terms of Services.

  5. Click For Partners to expand it.

  6. Select the AI phone country code, which is the country where the AI Employee's phone number is created. The field starts empty, so choose the country where the business operates.

  7. Check that Partner Organization IDN and Partner Member IDN are filled in. An IDN is a short identifier, here one for your partner organization and one for you. Starting from the Partner Portal fills both in, which links the new AI Employee to your account. If you started from a direct link, enter them yourself. See Partner organization identifiers for where to find them. Leave Promo Code blank. Partner Comments is optional.

  8. Click Create and Continue. A screen offering a call from Adrian, the AI supervisor, appears. The person whose email you entered receives a welcome email for the new account.

  9. Click Skip to continue without a call, or click I agree to have Adrian call the number shown and help you finish setting up. The Test your AI screen opens with the AI Employee's phone number, name, and position. If a video opens on top, close it to see the number.

Test the AI Employee

Call the number on the Test your AI screen from your phone. To copy the number, click the copy icon next to it. Talk to the AI Employee as a customer would: ask about opening hours, services, or making a booking.

If you're building live on a sales call, have the customer call the number on speaker so they hear the AI Employee for themselves.

If the AI Employee treats the business as the wrong type, for example a dental practice handled as a sales business, don't change its industry afterwards. Create the AI Employee again instead. See Business industry attribute for why.

Important: The Agent Creator creates a pre-production AI Employee. It works, but it only knows what it found online. Review its details and add what's missing before it takes real customer calls.

Find the AI Employee in your Partner Portal

  1. Close the Agent Creator window, then click Close to confirm.

  2. Click Customers in the sidebar. The new customer appears at the top of the list within a few minutes. Its Customer IDN, the customer organization's identifier, starts with C_.

If the customer created the AI Employee on their own, for example from the newo.ai website, it isn't in your list. Ask them for their Customer IDN, then follow Link customer agents to the Partner Portal, which also shows where to find it.

What to do after the AI Employee is created
