Your saved cards live on the Billing page in the Portal. This article covers adding a card, choosing which one is charged, removing one, and replacing a card that is about to expire.
Note: This is about the cards you pay Newo.ai with. It is not the list of payment types your own business accepts from its customers — that is a separate setting on your AI Employee. See Add payment methods.
Who can manage payment methods
Only the organization Owner can open and change payment methods. Every other role — including Co-Owner — can see the billing banners but will not see an action on them, and cannot add or change a card.
If you need a card updated and have no action available on the banner, ask the Owner of your organization, or contact Newo.ai support.
Open your payment methods
From the Billing page, open Manage Payment Methods. When a billing banner is showing at the top of the page, its action opens the same panel — including the banners whose action reads Learn more.
The panel lists your saved cards, each showing its brand and last four digits. The card currently being charged carries a Default badge, and a card past its expiry date carries an Expired badge. If you have no cards yet, the panel reads No saved cards yet — Add a card to enable payments and future auto-charges.
Add a card
Click Add New Card.
Fill in the secure card form — cardholder name, card number, expiry date, security code, country, and postcode.
Optionally select Make this card default.
Click Add card.
Your first card automatically becomes the default payment method, so subscriptions and future charges use it without any further action.
Change your default card
Each card except the default one has an actions menu, shown as a ⋮ button on the right of its row.
Open the actions menu on the card you want to charge.
Click Make default.
Confirm at the Make default payment method? prompt.
Subscriptions and future charges switch to that card immediately.
Remove a card
Open the actions menu on the card and click Remove, then confirm at the Remove Card prompt.
Important: The default card has no actions menu, so it cannot be removed while it is the default. To remove it, first make another card the default — the actions menu then appears on the old card. This also means that when only one card is saved, it cannot be removed.
Replace an expiring or expired card
Newo.ai shows a Card expires soon. banner ahead of your default card's expiry date so you can replace it before a payment fails.
There is no in-place edit for a card. Replace one by adding the new card first, making it the default, and then removing the old one. An expired card is not expected to be selectable as a default, so add the replacement before removing anything.
If you have reached the card limit
An account can save a limited number of cards — ten at the time of writing. On reaching it, Add New Card is disabled and the panel reads You've reached the card limit. Remove a card you no longer use before adding another.
Paying an outstanding balance
When you are completing a payment for a plan, the panel also shows a Price Breakdown with an Estimated total, listing any Outstanding usage debt separately when there is some to collect.
Note: The estimated total may not be final, because usage can accrue between the estimate and the payment completing. Your invoice carries the final figure.
Once the payment succeeds and a valid default card is on file, a limited or blocked AI Employee returns to normal automatically. See What happens if a payment fails.
